Children's Health & Wellbeing

Every Child Deserves the Opportunity to Thrive

At The Greater Sum Foundation, we identify and support high-impact nonprofit organizations that are building innovative, community-driven solutions for children and families. Through funding, mentorship, and capacity-building programs, we help these organizations expand their reach and deepen their impact.

2020, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) ranked the United States 36th out of 38 for children’s overall wellbeing outcomes, 32nd for children’s mental health, and 38th for children’s physical health. Mental health, which reflects the emotional and psychological state of an individual, is often impacted by physical health—the overall condition of the body. The organizations we support work to improve these rankings through various unique means, including by advocating for policies to prevent sexual violence in K-12 schools, carving a musical pathway for children to express themselves, and shifting the power from how the illnesses may affect the children to the children themselves with artwork and teddy bears.

How The Greater Sum Identifies and Supports Organizations

We pursue a mission-aligned approach to select the organizations we fund and support.

Our process includes:

  • Evaluating leadership strength and organizational sustainability

  • Reviewing program design, outcomes, and community impact

  • Assessing innovation and long-term scalability

  • Supporting selected organizations through our Virtual Incubator Program

  • Providing mentorship, funding access, and strategic guidance
